Events raise funds and awareness for new charity in Charley’s memory

A series of events are set to be held to raise funds for a new charity formed in memory of a Burnham-On-Sea teenager who died in September.

18 year-old Charley Marks took his own life in September and a new charity, In Charley’s Memory, has been created to support other young people with mental health issues.

This Sunday (November 30th), the Crafty Teacup Cafe in Burnham’s Victoria Street is holding Christmas Pottery Painting from 11am-4pm when lots of present ideasm cards, wrapping paper and festive food and drink will be available, with proceeds going to In Charley’s Memory.

A fundraising Pamper/Christmas Evening will then be held on Friday 5th Decrmber at The Oak Tree Arena in Edithmead from 6.30pm onwards. There will be beauty, hair, massage, aromatherapy, nail, cards, chocolates, cakes and gift stalls open to women, men and children.

Students at King Alfred School in Highbridge will also be fundraising for the charity over the coming days during their annual Rag Week.
