Casting session to be held for Burnham-On-Sea medieval tournament

-

A casting session is to be held for a Medieval Tournament due to be held in Burnham-On-Sea this summer.

Organisers are seeking a king, two games masters, six knights, six ladies and various pages for the event, which will be held on 27th July in aid of the Poppy Appeal.

A casting session will be held this Saturday (July 5th) from 11am-12.30pm at the Royal British Legion in Burnham’s Victoria Street.

Organiser Gaynor Brown said: “All ages over 7 are welcome, all sizes, and no previous experience is needed – just enthusiasm and commitment to a couple of quick rehersals.”

“Costumes are provided, along with training. The event will be a ‘theatrical production’ and will not be dangerous in any way.”

The tournament will held by the Pavilion on July 27th along with a craft fair opening from 1.30pm with the Queen and her court arriving for the games at 2.30pm.

There will be ‘historic games’ as well as jousting featuring a cast of residents of all ages. To book a stall £5.00 or to join the cast call 01278 238714 or email gaynor.brown1@talktalk.net.
