Police called to boat crash in Highbridge town centre

-

Police were called to Highbridge town centre on Tuesday afternoon (March 25th) after a boat trailer left a towing vehicle and ended up slamming into a cycle rack.

An eyewitness told Burnham-On-Sea.com the boat came off its towing hitch as it was being driven along Bank Street by an Audi Estate near the town’s Community Centre at around 4.30pm.

“It came off its hitch, left the road and went at speed onto the pavement where it collided into a cycle rack, damaging the metal structure,” he said.

“Fortunately, there were no pedestrians in the area at the time or it could have been very serious.”
