Lovers of real ales are raising a pint or two this weekend during Burnham-On-Sea’s annual Beer Festival.
Now in its third year, the four-day event is being held at the Ritz Social Club in Burnham’s Victoria Street over the whole May Bank Holiday weekend.
The festival opened on Friday 2nd May and is open from 11am each day all weekend on Saturday 3rd, Sunday 4th and Monday 5th.
“This year’s festival features a fabulous array of mainly local real ales, including such gems as Yeovil Ales Stargazer, Quantock Ales Wills Neck and Royal Stag and back by popular demand will be last year’s favourite, Glastonbury Ales’ Love Monkey,” spokesman Mike Barsby told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The event will also several great local live music acts on stage at regular intervals though the weekend. There will be Rustique on Friday night, Six Machine on Saturday night, Talk Show Hosts on Sunday night and Rustique and friends will round off the event on Monday afternoon.
“The 2014 festival has an even bigger choice of ales and for the first time one brewery will win Burnham’s best beer of the festival award, as voted for by festival visitors,” added Mike.
“A beer tasting and voting card will be handed out to everyone on arrival. Admission will be completely free.”
