Burnham-On-Sea and District Bee Keepers are holding a special open day this Saturday (September 6th).

The group is organising the informal event for local people to find out more about beekeeping and how to help honey bees.

The event, which runs from 2-5pm, will introduce visitors to the basics of beekeeping, and will include a demonstration of hives and equipment.

There will also be a chance to see inside the hives, with visitors dressed in bee suits and gloves.

Should the weather not be suitable, there will be a ‘virtual’ hive demonstration instead.

The cost of the session is £10 per person and for more details and to reserve a place, contact Thomas O’Neill on 01278 786036 or Richard Tiley on 01278 787410.
