Auditions to be held for Burnham Princess Theatre Company shows

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre Company is holding auditions for two of their upcoming productions on Tuesday 24th June.

They are looking to cast four children, probably three boys and one girl around 12 years old for ‘Dragged Up’, which is due to be performed on September 19th.

And at least six further children of varying ages are being sought for ‘Out of the Mist’, which is planned for November 7th.

Kim Cook, from the Princess Theatre Company, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is a great opportunity for local children who are interested in acting and theatre to get involved.”

“‘Dragged Up’ is a comedy drama set in Yorkshire in 1974 during the three-day week. The children don’t have to actually be 12 but they need to look 12, and they also need to master a Yorkshire accent.”

‘Out of the Mist’ is being performed in conjunction with Burnham RNLI, and all the ticket sales will go the RNLI.

Kim says: “The play is a dramatisation of the history of the RNLI, so it is not only a piece of entertaining drama but educational as well. There are several children’s roles and the parts tend to be quite short, so this is a great opportunity for children who think they may want to try acting, but are nervous of going for a big role.”

The auditions will be held at The Princess Theatre at 6pm this Tuesday (24th June). Budding actors should contact Kim Cook first via gkcook@sky.com to register their interest and to receive further details.
