A ceremony to mark Armed Forces Day will be held in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday morning (June 28th).

Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Martin Cox will lead a flag-raising ceremony at 10am besides the flag pole and town water fountain at the junction of the High Street and Marine Drive.

Residents are welcome to join the brief ceremony, which will be attended by local councillors and representatives from local community groups.

Burnham’s Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) branch will hold a ‘Brew for the Few’ coffee morning to mark Armed Forces Day in The Railway pub afterwards.

Armed Forces Day is held each year to raise public awareness of the contribution made to the country by the Armed Forces, and it also gives people an opportunity to show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces.
