Over a dozen local groups have this week shared a grant boost from Burnham and Highbridge Town Council.

The council has decided on the organisations and clubs which it is giving grants to during 2013 and on Monday evening (January 7th) the money was handed over by Mayor Ken Smout and Deputy Mayor Martin Cox, as pictured here.

They include Highbridge Festival of Arts (£210), Highbridge Foodbank (£250), Highbridge in Bloom (£200), Burnham & Highbridge Choral Society (£250) and the Swimming Club (£500).

Others include Air Training Corps (£200), Burnham United Juniors (£300), Vale of Avalon Vintage Vehicle Run (£250) and Burnham and Highbridge Stroke Club (£120)

Also benefiting are Highbridge and Burnham Carnival (£200), Burnham & Highbridge Community Association (£150), Monarchs Gymnastics Club (£750) and Burnham & Highbridge Sea Cadets (£250) plus Burnham Dreamscheme (£1,950).

The funding has come from the town council’s annual grants budget.
