A special film screening in Burnham-On-Sea has raised more than £700 for the Highbridge Festival of the Arts.

Over 100 people attended the charity presentation of ‘The Best, Exotic Marigold Hotel’ at the Ritz Cinema in Victoria Street.

“We are delighted that a total of £743 was raised for the festival,” the event’s Chairman, Jenny Golding, told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “The committee wish to thank Pat Scott for the use of his cinema again this year and everyone who came along.”

She also thanked Highbridge Social Club for holding a fundraising quiz earlier this month, which raised a further £103.10 for the festival.

“We would like to thank all those who have supported all the fundraising events and hope to see you all at this year’s Highbridge Festival Of The Arts which will be held at The Princess Theatre between 7th March and 16th March.”

Anyone who would like to become a friend of the festival or to help it can call Jenny on 785465 or Festival Secretary Maureen Phillips on 780615.
