New hourly bus service from Burnham-On-Sea to Taunton launches
A
new hourly bus service between Burnham-On-Sea and Taunton has
launched this week.
Webber
Bus started the service on Monday, which runs from Pier Street
in Burnham to Monkton Heathfield and then on to SCAT, Taunton
Railway Station and Musgrove Hospital.
The
new daily service operates from 7.25am in Pier Street and runs
on an hourly basis through until 6.25pm. Return ticket prices
cost £6 and singles are £4 per person.
Town
councillor Chris Williams, who has long campaigned for better
transport services in the Burnham area, welcomed the launch of
the service on Tuesday.
He
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "It's wonderful that this service
has started. It's a real boost for Burnham and those many people
who find the existing First Bus service so poor."
Webber
Bus spokesman Tim Gardener told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "There
has been a lot of demand for a fast, regular service like this
from Burnham for some time."
