Short circuit causes microwave fire at Burnham pub

An electrical short ciruit was blamed for a kitchen fire at a Burnham-On-Sea pub in the early hours of Friday morning (August 8th).

Burnham fire crews were called to Dunstan House Inn in Love Lane at 1.36am after the owners reported a kitchen microwave on fire.

"Upon arrival, the crews carried out an investigation and there had been a small fire in the microwave which was out on arrival," a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com. "Crews made the area safe."

The microwave was slightly damaged by heat and smoke and there was also some smoke damage to then kitchen. The spokesman added that smoke alarms are fitted at the property and had activated.
