Burnham-On-Sea fire crews
tackle blaze at former Highbridge hotel

These
were the scenes in Highbridge on Saturday afternoon (April 19th)
when Burnham-On-Sea firefighters tackled a blaze in a derelict
hotel.
Two
fire crews from Burnham rushed to the site of the former Highbridge
Hotel after smoke was seen coming out of the building at just
before 2pm.
Fire
crews equipped with breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to
quickly put out the fire and a high pressure fan was also used
to ventilate the property, as pictured here.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
reported in January
how the hotel had been boarded up by Mead Realisations, the developer
that owns the property. Local
councillors have called for work to revamp the property to be
brought forward to improve the appearance of the area and increase
safety.

Two
fire crews from Burnham were quickly on the scene.

The
fire crews also inspected the rear of the building.
