Burnham Coastguards issue safety warning after jetty blocked

Coastguards in Burnham-On-Sea have issued a safety warning after the town's jetty was partially blocked by parked vehicles on Saturday (May 10th).

As these photos show, six vehicles were using the slipway, much to the concern of the town's marine emergency services who would have been unable to launch lifeboats or hovercrafts during a call-out.

Burnham Coastguard Station Officer Steve Bird said: "Having 24-hour access from the jetty is vital. We advise water users who use the slipway to bear this in mind when launching their boats or jet skis."
