Burnham-On-Sea police
probe 'suspicious' boat fire in Highbridge

Police
and fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea were called to Highbridge on
Sunday afternoon (April 20th) after a fire broke onboard a moored
boat.
Two
fire crews from Burnham and a Fire Incident Support Unit were
sent to the scene at around 4.45pm, besides the River Brue, as
pictured here.
At
least four police cars were also at the scene amid concerns that
the boat - which is believed to have been disused for several
years - had been deliberately set alight.
A
large crowd of onlookers gathered at The Clyce to watch the incident
unfold as police started their investigations. Smoke had earlier
been seen coming out of the boat on the southern banks of the
Brue, promoting the call-out for emergency services.
