Burnham-On-Sea
police seize hundreds of pounds of alcohol
Police
in Burnham-On-Sea took action against under-age drinkers during
the half-term break.
Officers
from Burnham seized alcohol from teenagers, mainly those drinking
in parks and open spaces, and the youngsters concerned were spoken
to and given words of advice, and some parents also informed.
Hundreds
of pounds of alcohol seized has been destroyed as a result. The
crackdown was part of the Somerset Tackling Alcohol Related Crime
(STARC) project which is aimed at reducing drinking among young
people and the associated trouble.
