Burnham-On-Sea fire crews tackled FIVE incidents in four hours during one of their busiest-ever evenings on Monday (March 26th).
The hectic few hours began when crews tackled a hedge fire – as pictured above – at 4.55pm at the rear of the Somerfield store in Highbridge.
Minutes later, crews were called to a false alarm at Highbridge Medical Centre, and this was followed by a small blaze at a derelict property in Red Road, Berrow.
The crews also helped the ambulance service deal with an incident in Berrow, before their final incident of the evening, also in Berrow, when a resident called out the crews when her kitchen microwave caught alight.
“It’s been a very busy few hours,” Burnham-On-Sea station officer Ian Hazelton told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “It’s just a coincidence that so many incidents have occurred at the same time.”
