Crowds of onlookers turned out to watch Brean Leisure Park’s first pig races and donkey derby of the summer season this week.
Tuesday’s event raised money for local good causes and is the traditional curtain-raiser to several weeks of summer events at the leisure park.
As normal, the entrance gate was manned by Highbridge and Burnham’s St John Ambulance Cadets, who were also selling entry programmes.
Burnham’s Sea Cadets manned the Tote for betting on each race and the St John Ambulance Adults were there just in case anyone fell off. Fortunately, the evening went without mishap and a fun evening was had by all.
Pig and donkey racing is held every Tuesday evening from 7pm at Brean Leisure Park during August.
