Abbeyfield offers sheltered accommodation for 8 independent mature individuals with the support of the House Manager.
Key objectives for the right person are to maximise and improve the quality of life of every resident, you will make certain that everyone feels settled, supported and involved in all our activities.
As Assistant Housekeeper you must have the ability to work flexible hours. You will support the House Manager to provide day to day management of the house including preparing meals for the residents, managing materials and stock for the efficient running of the house. There will also be some administrative duties involved and for this training will be given.
This is a permanent position with a competitive salary, to include holidays and a contributory pension scheme, after a qualifying period.

Working with local produce you'll always be looking for ways to minimise waste and control costs and resources. With your attention to detail you’ll ensure each dish is fresh, tasty and beautifully presented every time.

As a key member of our busy catering team, you’ll make sure the team is working effectively to deliver great results. You may also be required, on occasions to supervise volunteers.

You’ll help the catering team ensure our kitchens are presented to the highest standard and are compliant with all relevant legislation around food hygiene and COSHH.

.VOLUNTEER SALES ASSISTANTS/ FUNDRAISERS

Volunteer Sales Assistants would assist in the daily running of shop in Burnham-On-Sea which would include replenishment of stock and merchandising, and till. Suitable volunteers do not need experience as training will be given. Ideally a morning or afternoon a week, the shop is open 7 days a week and therefore days could be found to suit applicants.

Volunteer Fundraising staff would help with various campaigns throughout the year, which could include Ride for Ryder, Christmas fundraising, volunteer campaigns, stock generation campaigns and fundraising in general. This position is very flexible and could be carried out at home subject to approval. Training and guidance will be given and would work closely with shop manager. This would suit and enthusiastic, organised person.
