Moose
International hands over cheque to Burnham-On-Sea charity
Members
of Burnham-On-Sea Moose International have this week handed over
a cheque for £400 to BARB, the charity that runs the town's
two rescue hovercrafts.
BARB
Secretary Roger Flower was handed the cheque by Moose Brother
John Cuff, Moose Lady Treasurer Doreen Ateyo, and Moose Lady President
Yvonne Cornelius, as pictured here.
Roger gave a talk to the group about recent rescues and the
work of BARB's volunteer crewmembers, which was illustrated with
a slide presentation.
The money was raised by the Ladies' Circle organising various
events, including a soup and sweet lunch, a Remembrance Day meal,
and a strawberry tea.
BARB
is one of several local organisations whom the Moose Lady President's
appeal is supporting this year. A second cheque for £60
was also presented by John Cuff on behalf of the Lodge's Social
Committee.
Moose
International is a fraternal organisation based on family values
that raises money for local and national charities, and provides
support to each other.
