Stranded
van pulled to safety after getting stuck on Berrow beach

A
van was towed to safety on Saturday evening (May 9th) after it
became stuck in soft sand and mud on Berrow beach.
Burnham-based
charity BARB was called to the scene shortly after 5pm after being
alerted by a nearby resident.
Five
volunteers used a tractor and ropes to pull the stranded vehicle
free, as pictured here.
The
van and its grateful owner were pulled up the beach onto the hard
sand by 5.30pm, before the evening's high tide.
It
follows several incidents along the coastline during recent months.
Last month, a boat
and trailer were towed to safety at Brean, and in March a
car got stuck on the
mudflats. In February, a quad
bike got into the difficulty on Burnham beach.
